Mercy and Starlight

Tonight, shimmery vomit leaves my body like an exorcism. In my dreams, I am on the floor, hunched over like a dog, howling like a lycan. I spend hours puking up teeth until I have an entire set.

I sit in the dimly lit room on my knees—now ripe with splinters— counting the glowing fragments of bone. The door creaks and I look up only to see the princess in a bloodstained gown, smiling at me with a raw, toothless grin.

She's humming.
